HWC Writers Blog Submission Guidelines

I’m looking for articles of interest to fiction writers in the categories of Motivation, Writing Skills, Revision, Publishing, and Fiction Marketing.

Length: 1000 words or more

Pay: $25/article PLUS

Author box at the bottom of your article that includes 250×250 image and up to four backlinks:

Your website OR link to a salespage for your current book, plus any three of the following…

  • Twitter feed
  • Google+ Profile Page
  • Linkedin Profile Page
  • Xing Profile Page
  • Facebook page

And Personal Author Archive (example shown here) with all articles on page

Formatting:
Acceptable attachments: .txt, .doc, .docx, pdf, or .rtf file formats

Rights:
First English language rights in digital format.

Exclusive rights for 30 days from date of article publication.

Please title your message “SUBMISSION: Title: Category – Author Name.”

Articles for the Editorial and Success Stories categories are developed internally, are not open for submissions, and are unpaid.

Allow up to two weeks for a response. After two weeks, please query in your existing conversation.

Contracts will be issued for completed articles. Payment will be issued within 30 days of a completed and signed contract.

  • Do I have to be a member of Holly’s Writing Classes submit?Yes. The blog exists in part to help my members gain some additional promotional opportunities for their fiction. But membership is free, and continuing your membership does not require a purchase at any point.
  • I want to submit something I’ve already posted on my blog. Is this acceptable?No. I require that the work be original. Thirty days from publication on this blog, however, you can post it on your blog and submit it elsewhere.
